Paul: At Rainbow Acres, our mission is to provide opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to live out their lives with as much meaning and purpose as is possible.
Jen: One of the main misconceptions that people have about adults with developmental disabilities living on a campus together is that they are isolated from the community and that they aren’t doing anything of value. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Our residents are part of the local community. Our residents are amazing employees, offsite and onsite. They’re amazing church members. They’re amazing volunteers in our community.
Our days are active and full, our friendships are deep and fun, and our staff are really honored to be a part of the Ranchers’ lives.
Meet Rachael
Rachael’s family spent years looking for a place where she could feel at home and continue to grow. Today, she rides horses, paints, and spends time with friends.
“It’s not where we live. It’s where she lives.” — Kim and Greg Adler

Kim: We adopted Rachael from China when she was one year old. Rachael has grown into the most empathetic, outgoing, wonderful human being that we could ever ask for.
We have been looking for years for a place where we would feel comfortable knowing that once we passed, that Rachael would be taken care of. Rainbow Acres. When we found them, it was just a match made in heaven.
Greg: Yeah, there’s a lot for her to do. She does this every day. She does her horse riding and painting, and she does things with her friends.
I always thought she had potential, and she’s finally being able to exercise it and show it around here and basically, you know, thrive in a way she never did before we came here.
Kim: Rainbow Acres to her is home. It’s not where we live. It’s where she lives.
