Volunteers are always welcome at Rainbow Acres! Having volunteers is a major highlight for our Ranchers and a huge help for our organization. We appreciate your time, talent, and resources and are grateful for the unique gifts and skills of each volunteer. Whether you are an individual, a couple, or part of a group, most volunteers serve in two areas: 1) socializing with the Ranchers and 2) improving our facilities and grounds. We partner with you to create the experience you want, matched with our needs. Your dedication to Rainbow Acres brings a lasting impact to our community.
Socializing with Ranchers
There are many opportunities for volunteers to engage with the Ranchers. Volunteers enjoy working with the Ranchers during activities in the craft rooms, courses in the classrooms, gardening, and other activities. We also find that volunteers have endless options for creating and organizing fun events for the Ranchers, such as games, craft projects, talent shows, ice-cream socials, dances, or perhaps a pick-up basketball game or taking a group of Ranchers to go bowling or play golf. We welcome your ideas, too. If there’s a skill or talent you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about it.
Improving facilities and grounds
We deeply appreciate volunteers’ help in maintaining the beauty of our facilities and grounds. Depending on your interest and experience, volunteer projects often include landscaping, painting, cleaning, and organizing. Rainbow Acres is also in need of volunteers with advanced construction skills (roofing, electrical, sheetrock, flooring, etc.) to help us with more involved projects.
