Dear Friends of Rainbow Acres,
The Rainbow Acres Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Prochelo as the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mike most recently served with Goldensun Peace Ministries (Glendale, AZ) as Executive Director. He will begin with Rainbow Acres as President and CEO-Elect on June 20 and assume the role of President and CEO on July 1, 2022.
After an extended search, Mike was a natural choice for the position. Along with strong faith and a compassionate heart for the disabilities community, he also brings several years of experience in the area of special needs residential living. Mike understands the importance of working with the Ranchers, Staff, Families, and the greater community to build on the strengths and 47-year tradition of Rainbow Acres.
Rainbow Acres’ Board Chair Kathryn Mikesh Houser said, “In addition to his prior experience in both residential living and disabilities, the Board appreciated Mike’s collaborative management style and his similarities in philosophy to those of the Rainbow Acres community. His ease interacting with Ranchers was immediately apparent.”
Mike was on Ranch to meet Ranchers and Staff in person on Friday, June 10. The last two weeks in June will be spent taking a deeper dive into the intricate workings of the Ranch and Staff before fully taking the helm on July 1.
Please join us in extending blessings to Mike as he joins the Rainbow Acres Family. We believe with Mike’s leadership, the organization will continue to advance our mission to empower persons with developmental disabilities to live to their fullest potential with dignity and purpose.
Thank you for your continued support of Rainbow Acres.
For the Ranchers,
Kathryn Mikesh Houser
Chair, Board of Trustees
